Lesson 1:
The History of Photography - We will review the beginning of photography and how the first photograph was made and its transformation of the years.
Lesson 2:
Embrace The Light: A photograph is made from the presence of light and time. The aperture, shutter speed and ISO of your camera are the elements needed to create a photograph. We will go over the technical aspects of how a photograph is made.
Lesson 3: The Composer: Composition or framing an image is everything in a photograph. We will discuss the rule of thirds and also find a subject that you enjoy photographing.
Lesson 4: The Self-Portrait. I will show you some of the first self-portraits that I made with a tripod. Self-portraits are important for every artist because they can combine lighting, composition and a point of view. This will help you when photographing both objects and people.
Lesson 5: Culling and Editing. We will discuss how to pick your best images (culling means choosing your images) and how to adjust photos efficiently. I will provide tips on picking "top 5s" that will help you create a body of work.
Lesson 6: Virtual Gallery Show: YAY! this is where will will show your best images and for this class, each student will virtually exhibit 3 to 5 images. You will work with me to pick your best images before the show and then I will place them in a document / slide show for everyone to view. I can also give you some tips on how to print and frame your work (what supplies you can order online and which printers to use).
